NYC RECYCLES
How do you make recycling interesting and visible in one of the largest cities in the world? That was the question we had to answer in promoting New York City and Mayor Bloomberg's "Recycle Everything" program. The public education effort was the largest recycling expansion in the city in 25 years. So we created pop art-like collages featuring recyclables like magazines, bottles, and cans coming together with logos of major brands torn from the packaging.
All the brands and news outlets that participated in the campaign, like PepsiCo, Evian, Chobani, Goya Foods, and New York magazine, all had to agree to let us tear up their packaging and logos in order to make the work (an uncommon request to be sure). The collages themselves were visual examples of recyclables being turned into something beautiful. The work was in every part of New York City as OOH, in local papers and magazines as print, and all over social media. See PRESS.
